Happy new year!

Sunday

Well, I'm back at work today so I thought it would be a good time to come back to blogging too! I am so damn excited to be back sharing my quaint little world with you all, and I'm so damn pumped for this year! There is so much going on! I'm starting a nutrition course a week from now, in my quest to become a health coach and I've already become (Facebook) friends with some of my Kiwi classmates, so I'm so looking forward to meeting them in person sometime this year - hooray for new friends! I've got the writing bug back, and I'm so determined to finish something this year, although I haven't decided which project it's going to be. And well, it's summer here, so it's always an exciting time - I've got beach days on the brain!

Hope you all had an amazing silly season and a raring to go for the year. What are your plans? Is 2014 going to be your year? Comment!!

We're all going on a... summer holiday

Tuesday

So, as if getting engaged wasn't enough fabulousness to last a lifetime, we also had the most fabulous holiday with friends at a bach on Lake Taupo, where we did all the things you're supposed to do on a kiwi summer holiday... barbecues, lazing by the lake, lazing in the backyard, lazing in the lounge, playing board games as 2012 came to a close, swimming in the lake, taking the dinghy out on the lake, relaxing in natural hot springs, getting massages, seeing parts of our beautiful country we either haven't seen before or haven't been to in awhile... it was bliss - the perfect start to what is set to be the most exciting (and a little bit scary I'll admit...) year of our lives so far.

Summer loving

Monday

Okay, I know it's not officially summer yet, but it's November 1st, and while I'm writing this it's 20 degrees (celcius) outside, so I think it's time to really start looking forward to sunny weather, especially since summer seems so long ago with the terribly cold winter we've had. So, this summer, I'm looking forward to:

♥ eating gelato ♥ exploring new places in the Wairarapa like Herbertville Beach and Gladstone ♥ christmas ♥ celebrating new years at Castlepoint Beach ♥ camping ♥ roadtrips ♥ writing poems ♥ getting my camera back up and running ♥ experimenting with my new vintage Agfa camera ♥ concerts ♥ planting a herb garden ♥ reading books in the sunshine ♥ swimming in the ocean ♥ jumping off the Eastbourne wharf into the ocean ♥ woodfire pizza on the beach ♥ bike rides ♥ summer dresses ♥ barbeques with friends and family ♥ roasting marshmallows ♥ salads ♥ parties ♥ singing to summer tunes up loud in the car with the boyfriend, not caring who's listening ♥ walking around in bare feet ♥ inventing fruit smoothie flavours ♥ chillin' at the Waitarere Beach bach with the family

What are you looking forward to this summer?

A perfect summer day is when the sun is shining, the breeze is blowing, the birds are singing, and the lawn mower is broken. ~James Dent
