On Sunday, my 24th birthday, I spent a blissful day cooking a whole bunch of deliciousness from recipes in Jo Seagar's latest cookbook Italia, which my lovely man gave me for Christmas last year. I was lucky enough to interview Jo Seagar when she came to the Wairarapa to promote her book and I was working as a journalist at the local paper, so it gave me great pleasure to cook some of the beautiful recipes she told me about that day. Everything was made from scratch, and every recipe came from that book. And by God, those Italian women must have some hulky strong arms, I kneaded so much dough it was a workout in itself!
